Kim Tae-yeon (born March 9, 1989), most often credited only as Taeyeon, is a South Korean singer. She debuted in 2007 as a member of South Korean girl group Girls' Generation under S.M. Entertainment, and has further participated in its subgroup TTS as well as S.M Entertainment's ballad group SM the Ballad. Aside from group activities, she has also recorded tracks for various television dramas and movies as well as commercial films (CFs).

Taeyeon officially made her debut as a solo artist in October 2015 with her first extended play, I, which reached number two on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and has sold well over 100,000 physical copies. The lead single, "I", peaked atop the Gaon Digital Chartand has sold over one million digital copies. Following her debut, she was awarded Best Female Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Her following extended play, Why with two singles "Starlight" featuring R&B singer Dean and "Why" was released in June 2016.

Gallup Korea ranked her as the third most popular artist of 2015, and Forbes Korea listed her among their Top 40 Power Celebrities of 2016. Taeyeon is renowned for her vocal abilities: she was voted in a survey by 40 music industry officials as the best K-pop vocalist in October 2015, and as the best  female vocalist by twenty music companies in April 2016.

Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun lived with their parents in Mongolia for almost two years before they returned to South Korea to pursue a career in the music industry.The siblings, under the name Akdong Musician, became part of the Proteurment agency. Under the company, they did several stage performances and even released an original song called "Galaxy", which was later used as a soundtrack for a Samsung Galaxy S4 commercial. 

In August 2012, the duo participated in the preliminary auditions of K-pop Star 2, which were held at Jamsil Arena in Seoul. They passed their audition, and in the show's first round they sang a cover of Miss A's "Breathe" and an original song titled "Don't Cross Your Legs", to praise from all three judges. Park Jin-young, founder and CEO of JYP Entertainment, praised the chemistry between the siblings and the techniques they had incorporated in their performances. Singer and representative of SM Entertainment BoAhighlighted and praised the lyrics of their original song, while Yang Hyun-suk, founder and CEO of YG Entertainment, described them as "true artists" among the people who had auditioned for the show. The duo continued to receive positive responses from the judges, until after their second performance in the third round.The judges pointed out that their lack of confidence was the main reason behind their lukewarm performances in the succeeding rounds. In spite of this, they eventually won the competition. 

Some of their original songs performed during the competition were released under LOEN Entertainment and were well received; "You are Attractive", released on 12 December, immediately reached the number one spot on the Gaon Charts. After the competition, despite not being signed under an entertainment agency, they participated in commercials and composed several songs. One of these songs was "I Love You" for the television series All About My Romance. 

On 24 May 2013, a month after winning K-pop Star 2, the siblings signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment.

BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. Their name in Korean, Bangtan Sonyeondan (Hangul: 방탄소년단; Hanja: 防彈少年團), and Japanese, Bōdan Shōnendan (防弾少年団?), both translate to "Bulletproof Boy Scouts".

They debuted on June 13, 2013, with the song "No More Dream" from their first album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, for which they won several "New Artist of the Year" awards including those at the 2013 MelOn Music Awards and Golden Disk Awards, and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards. BTS continued rising to widespread prominence with their Most Beautiful Moment in Life trilogy, with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 and The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever both debuting inside the Billboard 200.The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Part 2 also charted at number one on the Billboard World Albums Chart and remained there for multiple weeks, making BTS the first K-Pop act to achieve that feat.The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Foreverwent on to win the coveted 'Album of the Year' award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards. This win marked BTS's first daesang, or 'Grand Prize', since their debut. 

The group continued to surpass themselves with the release of their second full album, Wings, which charted at #1 on iTunesin over 26 countries. The album also debuted at 26 on the Billboard 200, which marked the highest chart rank for a K-Pop album ever, as well as made BTS the first K-Pop act to log three entries onto the chart, and the first to spend more than one week on the chart. In their native South Korea, Wings sold 681,924 albums in its debut month, breaking the record for the highest first month sale for an album ever in Gaon history, as well as is the best selling album in Gaon history thus far. The album's title single, "Blood Sweat & Tears" (Korean: 피 땀 눈물) became the group's first domestic number one hit on theGaon Digital Chart. To date, BTS's discography has sold an estimated 2.5 million albums worldwide.

Known for their large international fanbase, having performed and sold out tours in Asia, Europe, Australia, North America, and South America, BTS's outstanding performances won them the Best World Performer award in the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Also known for their large social media presence, BTS were named by Forbes as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in March 2016. Following that, Twitter launched its first ever K-Pop Twitter emoji featuring BTS. In October 2016,Billboard placed BTS as #1 on their Social 50 chart, making them the first Korean group to top the chart.
